Membership List/Postal Announcement List
There is no special thing you need to do to be a sangha member. However, if you wish to vote in board elections or participate in consensus decisions by the sangha, we do need to have your name and address on our membership mailing list. We don't send many postal mailings. Most announcements are made at sangha meetings, on this web site, and via email.
To Subscribe:

Give him your name and any of the following as you wish:
(1) postal address
(2) phone number(s)
(3) email address(es)
The information will be included in hard-copy lists we occasionally make
available to sangha members, unless you specify that you don't want
your name to appear on the hand-out list.

Email Chat List
The chat list is intended to be used for conversations or announcements about any topic that may be of interest to list members such as about practice, politics, non-sangha events, other-sangha events, items for sale, housing issues, etc. The chat group is not moderated and any list member can post directly to the list using the following address: abq_sangha_chat@yahoogroups.com
The Albuquerque Vipassana Sangha does not endorse the opinions expressed on the chat list nor does it sponsor or recommend any retreat, workshop, talk, etc. that is announced on the chat list (unless you also see it announced on the sangha web site).
We'd like to see the list used more since people often request to post non-AVS-related email to the regular announcements list and it gets redirected to the chat list. So far, there is not a great deal of email traffic on the chat list.
